What is Graveyard Keeper 2?

Graveyard Keeper 2 is a dark-comedy management RPG in which you take the role of the Grand Inquisitor and inherit the family trade: running a medieval cemetery, harvesting flora, fauna and human remains, and turning every burial into profit. The sequel keeps the loop that made the original a cult favourite while adding a talent system, far more automation and a much larger world.

A City Worth Reclaiming

The Town finally opens. Choose which buildings and businesses to restore, and watch those choices reshape demand for everything you produce.

Zombie Automation

Corrupted corpses rise as workers with individual skill growth, staffing semi-automatic machines in underground factories around the clock.

Corruption Is Currency

Where the original prized white skulls, the sequel rewards red ones: the more corrupted the corpse, the stronger the zombie it becomes.

Raise an Undead Army

Forge weapons and armour, train your not-so-smart troops and lead them against the hostile undead threatening the realm.

The headline change is The Town, the long-teased city that finally opens its gates. It has been overrun by the undead and left in ruins, so you reclaim it district by district, restore housing, shops and cafes, and build fortifications against the hostile dead. Your most reliable workforce is the undead itself: corrupted corpses become specialised zombie labourers who mine, farm, brew and fight under your command.

Graveyard Keeper 2 FAQ

When does Graveyard Keeper 2 release and on which platforms?+

Graveyard Keeper 2 launches on September 22, 2026. It is planned for PC via Steam, Epic Games Store and GOG, as well as PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. The Steam store page currently lists Windows as the only PC platform.

What is the difference between white skulls and red skulls?+

White skulls measure the burial quality of a corpse and feed the prestige of your graveyard. Red skulls represent corruption, and in the sequel corruption is desirable: the more corrupted a body is, the better the zombie skills it can develop once raised. Good Keepers process each corpse toward whichever of the two they need most.

How do I make zombies in Graveyard Keeper 2?+

Zombies are raised from corpses. You prepare a body on the autopsy table, manage its corruption through embalming and organ swaps, and then reanimate it. The resulting worker has its own skill growth and can be assigned to a role, from mining and farming to brewing and fighting.

Can I enter The Town in Graveyard Keeper 2?+

Yes. The Town is the biggest addition to the sequel and was only ever referenced in the original. It is overrun by hostile undead, and you reclaim it district by district, restoring housing, shops and cafes. Restoration choices create new markets and unlock products to buy, so the order you rebuild in matters.

What is the fastest way to make money early?+

Early income comes from selling surplus body parts, crops and simple crafts, and from completing townsfolk requests. As soon as machines unlock, move repetitive production onto zombie workers so goods keep flowing while you explore. Reinvest the first profits into modules and machinery rather than hoarding coin.

How does automation work?+

Zombies operate semi-automatic machines in underground factories instead of only using basic workbenches. Once a worker is assigned and supplied, production continues without you. Skills improve over time, and workers can even earn names, so a well-managed factory becomes the backbone of a passive income empire.

Ready to Run the Family Business?

Shovel the dirt, dissect the corpses, raise a zombie workforce and drag The Town back from the dead. Your graveyard is waiting, Keeper.
